Mulberry 4.101a crashes upon Login attempt

Description
Under Mac OS 10.6.2 the alpha version will not accept a 4.08 Preferences file.
Once the older Prefs are removed the version will launch and ask for new Prefs data.
Once entered it will attempt to login and will crash.
We have seen similar behaviour under various 10.5 versions of Mac OS X as well.
