Add periodic reconnect with background mail checking

I like disconnected operation, especially at airport lounges and the like. But i forget I have to manually connect and wonder why nobody is responding to my insightful emails... aside from inflated expectations, they are often still pending.

I'd like to add to disconnected operation a mode where Mulberry periodically connects and updates, optimally in the background (and silently not do it if the network isn't connected).

What I'd like is to just set disconnected mode with a 5 minute or 10 minute check (or so) period. I'd also like a keyboard shortcut to Sync and Disconnect so I can do that easily just before shutting down and running to the plane. As I must do now....
