Cannot automatically check email and alert under Vista

Since the first day I got Windows Vista and installed Mulberry, I tried to set the foreground, background alert as well as show icon in task bar, to ask Mulberry to check new emails automatically every few minutes and alert me -- it never worked. The alert messages never pop out and I have to manually check email from time to time (and thus often forget to respond to impotant messages). I am using Windows Vista, and both problems were in 4.0.3 and 4.0.8.
